Referring to the beads, well, it maybe way harder to find such a range and high quality. But that's what makes AsKoru different.

We offer jewellery with beads not easily available elsewhere, sometimes not available elsewhere at all.

More specifically, it takes a pretty long time to be able to make a high quality bead and quality never comes cheap.
Don't fall for cheap imports. Don't compare the price of AsKoru beads and jewellery with something which you find at the bead shop round the corner or the Internet.
These are completely different worlds.

In these days there is a lot of mass produced beads on the market. They are offered in bead shops or by companies serving just the purpose of offering cheap beads to the hobby market and masses. They maybe handmade, they maybe even annealed and cleaned properly, but they usually lack the craftsmanship which only can be achieved by many years of training and experience.
They are mainly produced in sweat shops in China under horrible working conditions.

The lack of quality is equally true for beads and jewellery being offered by hobby bead makers who probably attended an introductory 1 or 2 day class somewhere, purchase a minimal equipment and start making beads and assembling jewellery a few days after setting up their equipment.

This work is often even worse in quality than Chinese imports. The only thing of high quality is the price of such concoction, which shall make the unexperienced think it would be jewellery and beads of decent quality. The price is nothing but a rip off after all.

Nothing against beadmaking as a hobby. - It is a great hobby for a lot of people.
But the difference can be spotted at first sight usually or at least once you have a slightly closer look. See also our illustrated webpage 'About quality'.

Coming back to the point of high prices..
Also, most serious glass artistst consider each bead a piece of art and its making requires many, many hours (months, years, etc) of practice and study and lots of skills. Some beads need several attempts to make them perfect, eg there must be made a few just to get one out to be good enough. In addition, each piece reflects the accumulation of my own money, time, and skill development in arriving at my personal style of art.

But there is more..
Make sure that you provided a correct email address. I really mean it.
We do see the odd subscription where the email address is invalid. Maybe it's misspelled.

There is one indication for you to note this.

When you subscribe to the newsletter you will get a confirmation email instantly to the email address provided.
If this address is not valid, well, then it won't arrive.

So if you do not receive a confirmation email then something is wrong with your email address probably.
Try to subscribe again after 10 minutes or more and double check the spelling of your email address.
Also make sure that our emails don't get caught in your spam filters.

We do not offer beginners classes. No exception.

We do offer advanced 1 on 1 classes for advanced flameworkers only and we need to be serious here.
Students need to have a flameworking experience of at least 1 year and it should obviously not consist of the once-in-a-week-only kind of experience.
If you do not master the basics this class is not for you. It would be wasted studio time otherwise.
Your application must include images of your current work. These can be slides, prints, CD’s or digital files through email. These images will indicate your current level of development as a flameworker, as well as tell us something about your level of professionalism and marketing. These images will be used to make final decisions about which students are accepted.
